Tax avoidance is almost universally disliked by the public and they want to see it tackled. Politicians should close loopholes that allow companies to slash their tax bills. There is some good news. Since the financial crisis, tax justice campaigners have put the issue of tax dodging on the political agenda. |
Corporate behaviour is changing. Governments have introduced measures to tackle tax avoidance.
In 2021 over 130 countries agreed to introduce a minimum effective corporate tax rate. Tax Justice UK successfully pushed the British government to back these proposals. There’s so much more to be done. We will continue to fight for a fairer tax system, where all companies pay their way. . |
